A Brief History. The Club, formed by Elizabeth Apps in 1964, was affiliated to the Orpington Horticultural Society and known as the Floral Art Section. It continued as such until 1985 when at an extra-ordinary general meeting chaired by Betty McNeil it was decided that the Floral Art Section stand on its own. The Club went from strength to strength.

Members have over the years raised much needed money for charity through flower festivals and fairs held in churches, historic buildings and venues such as Chartwell in Kent. For 25 years or more they have served on the flower rota at Southwark Cathedral and have recently been privileged to perform a similar task at the National Trust’s Ightham Mote also in Kent.

Competing in flower shows at Club and National level as well as at Chelsea and other RHS shows, our members have achieved success on many occasions.
